NEET UG Govt Quota Official Rules

Applicable for: NEET UG (MBBS & BDS)

Eligibility & Domicile

Academic Eligibility

  • Must have completed 10+2 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English)

 

Minimum Marks

  • General (OC): 50%
  • BC / SC / ST: 40%
  • OC-PH: 45%

 

Age Criteria

  • Minimum 17 years as per NEET norms

 

Local Candidate Requirement

What is a Local Candidate

  • A local candidate is a student who belongs to Andhra Pradesh based on study or residence criteria defined by the state

 

Who is considered a Local Candidate

  • Candidate who has studied in Andhra Pradesh for a specified period as prescribed
  • In absence of study, residence shall be considered as per rules

 

Why Local Status is Important

  • 85% seats are reserved for local candidates
  • 15% seats fall under All India Quota

 

Who is a Non-Local Candidate

  • Candidates who do not meet Andhra Pradesh local criteria
  • Not eligible for Competent Authority (Government Quota) seats

Reservation Matrix

Vertical Reservation

  • SC – 15%
  • ST – 6%
  • BC – 29% (A/B/C/D/E)
  • EWS – 10%
  • Remaining seats under Open Category

 

Horizontal Reservation

  • PwD (PH) – 5%
  • CAP / NCC / Sports / Others as applicable

 

Local Reservation Rule

  • 85% seats reserved for local candidates
  • 15% seats are under All India Quota

Fee Structure

Government Colleges

  • Very low tuition fees
  • Highly subsidized by the Government
  • Suitable for merit-based candidates

 

Private Colleges (Government Quota Seats)

  • Moderate fee structure
  • Fixed by the competent state authority
  • Lower than Management and NRI quota fees

 

Fee Payment Process

  • Fees must be paid within the specified admission timeline
  • Payment is usually done annually
  • Failure to pay fees may result in cancellation of admission

 

Important Fee Conditions

  • Fees once paid are subject to rules and guidelines
  • Discontinuation after joining may lead to penalty
  • Candidates must submit a fee undertaking/bond at the time of admission

Bond & Penalty Info

Discontinuation

  • If a candidate discontinues the course after admission, penalty shall be applicable as per rules

 

Free Exit

  • Withdrawal of admission shall be governed by counselling rules notified by the University

 

Bond Requirement

  • Candidate shall execute bond as prescribed at the time of admission

 

Document Verification

  • Admission is subject to verification of original certificates
  • If any discrepancy is found, admission shall be cancelled
